The Ministry Board of Stutsmanville Chapel has approved the setting up of a Designated Fund for helping in the Haiti earthquake relief efforts. We are participating with Samaritans Purse in their well organized relief efforts.

Samaritans Purse has had teams on the ground from the first days of the tragedy, including doctors and nurses, water specialists, and emergency management personnel. They are providing medical care, hospital supplies, water filtration equipment, temporary shelter, and other essentials, to keep the death toll from escalating further. They have been chartering up to five flights a day from Florida to Haiti to airlift emergency supplies, doctors, and relief workers. They also are working through long-term church and mission partners in Haiti who are committed to Christ and his redemptive work. Their news briefs state that they do everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, demonstrating His love as we come to the aid of the helpless and hurting.

We already have partnered with this organization with the Christmas Shoebox project. They have been doing this kind of intervention for a long time and are well organized. Samaritans Purse partners with the Billy Graham Associations Rapid Response Team, which we participated with in our His Presence in Crisis Seminar. This is an organization that is both efficient in giving aid and also positively represents the gospel of Christ, and who are connected to established Haiti churches and missions.

Your gifts will help in one of the following ways: providing a family with survival kits with a small stove, utensils for cooking, blankets, hygiene items and other essentials, providing the plastic and framework to build a temporary shelter, providing water filtration systems that will serve up to 500 families and helping cover the costs of the airlifts.
