A New Chapter of Love, Inc. to begin in Harbor Springs

The Ministry Board of Stutsmanville Chapel has budgeted $1,000.00 to help launch the establishment of a local chapter of Love, Inc. Love Inc. is a proven model since 1977 with over 140 local chapters in 30 states, representing more than 9,000 churches and 300,000 volunteers. Each local chapter coordinates church volunteers and community organizations together to help people in need. Christians are mobilized to work together across denominational lines to provide coordinated efforts to help those in need with basic assistance for food and clothing and also longer-term support such as financial and other life-skills training and housing programs.
The local chapter is being founded by our own Marge Bley and Lynne Zimmer. They have already received commitments from six local congregations, which is the requirement for starting a local chapter. They are forming a Steering Committee to get the program started and are starting a data base of volunteers. We are excited to participate in such a vital ministry that meets real needs in our area while seeking to share the love of Christ that transforms lives.
